THE CONTINUUM

Our largest mobile is an expansive piece of densely clustered brass components that glide past each other with ease without colliding, in a captivating composition.

The Continuum has played a role in the development of Circle & Line design language and products since 2017. Notable pieces such as The Frond and Aurora Wall Hangings were inspired by The Continuum. A number of commission pieces also draw from this stunning mobile, including the foundational components for The Citizenry’s San Cristobal, which can be viewed in the center of the original composition.

BEHIND THE DESIGN

The Continuum Mobile was designed by our founder, Corie Humble, to reimagine previous mobile designs and explore various shape combinations freely. The resulting piece evokes a sense of apprehension that the individual brass pieces will potentially brush against each other, while in fact the arrangement of the mobile parts allows them to narrowly pass each other.

The Continuum Mobile is often revisited, and takes on new finishes or components to produce one-of-a-kind pieces, in some cases using spare materials around the studio. While a permanent fixture to the Circle & Line collection, this piece has the versatility to be customized for many spaces.
